However, Agios Riginos, the patron saint of Skopelos, scared the dragon and he while escaping jumped into the Aegean sea. Then after he fell into the water, a cleft appeared which they called after the dragon – Drakondoshisma or Dragon’s cleft.
- Skopelos old town
Walking through the streets of the old town of Skopelos, you will see lots of picturesque landscapes. There are the oldest churches on the island, the lovely whitewashed houses, and the long labyrinth of paths which takes you to the top of the hill where the ancient castle is located. - Sendoukia graves
These are ancient graves, and as the legend says these are graves of pirates who tried to destroy Skopelos. However, the locals were brave enough to defend themselves and buried them under the rocks above the monastery of St. Efstathios.
