EXPLORE MENORCA

Menorca is the Balearic Islands' most family-friendly, scenic, and calm island. The island's beaches range from beautiful, silver-sanded, gently curving bays to rocky inlets surrounded by pine trees. On the picturesque south coast, larger, low-rise resorts can be found, but the verdant and steep rural interior remains virtually unspoiled. Menorca sparkles with serenity and charm thanks to a sprinkling of gorgeous structures, charming villages, and enigmatic prehistoric ruins.

Menorca's richness of archaeological remnants and ancient ruins will fascinate history buffs, with strong British ties stretching back to Nelson's time.

Traces of the island's colorful past and original inhabitants may be seen everywhere, including a gothic church, maze, and fortress. There are numerous monuments, Neolithic settlements, prehistoric ruins, and megalithic ruins, the most of which have been preserved intact. The area is also known for its Bronze Age stone towers and 'taulas,' which are large stone tablets arranged in the shape of a T.

Watersports, sailing, yachting, golf, and tennis are just a few of the activities available on Menorca. Scuba diving centers can be found in the major resorts, while horseback riding ranches can be found in the larger towns.

If you wish to get away from the beach, the island's south shore near Cala en Porter contains a number of natural caverns. Take a boat ride from the major resorts to explore the island by sea, or visit the animal reserves in the marshes if you're interested in nature.

Leather goods, from footwear, particularly locally created sandals known as 'Abarcas,' to bags and jackets, are arguably the greatest buy in Menorca. Menorca is known for its jewelry, as well as locally crafted pottery and cheeses from the Quesos Coinga business. Traditional arts and crafts, as well as fresh fruit, are sold at small, local markets.

You can witness the famous 18th-century Xoriguer Gin Distillery and its gigantic copper stills in action before drinking the 100 various types of gin on offer in Mahon, Menorca's picturesque harbourside capital.

MENORCA BEACHES

Menorca offers beach resorts for all members of the family, some crowded for those who prefer it that way, and others off the beaten path for those seeking peace and tranquility.

There are over 100 beaches to select from, making it the island's most popular destination. The southern shore has some of the most popular and developed beaches. Many of the beaches have shallow waves and gently sloping sands, making them excellent for kids. You're more likely to come across lovely horseshoe bays, coastline views, and rocky, beautiful landscapes towards the north.
