Our Destinations - Fiscardo Region

The incredibly attractive village of Fiscardo is situated on the shore of a stunning bay and has a recognizable architecture with significant Venetian influences. It is surrounded by lush, green hills that are covered in dense cypress and olive trees.

Traveling to Fiskardo at Kefalonia's northernmost point will be a breathtaking experience that is rich in both beauty and history.  Using a car or a bus will get you to Fiskardo. Kefalonia's capital city, Argostoli, is about a one-hour drive away. You can also take a boat from Nydri on Lefkada island to Fiskardo. You can also go on excursions to Fiskardo, which function like guided tours and give you a day to quickly see as much of the village as you can.

Get lost in Fiskardo's charming streets, which still exude a touch of Venetian elegance. Find tucked-away spaces that appear to be from a picture book. Consider visiting it as a living museum of the classic Ionian architecture of the Venetian era because it is one of the few, if not the only, villages that managed to survive the 1953 earthquake.

The village of Fiskardo is highly international. Both locals and visitors frequent the location for its upscale dining and exciting nightlife. Additionally, it serves as a link between Astakos Island and Lefkada.

As a result, as you stroll down the seashore and harbor, you'll find yachts and other expensive ships lining the way, while on the opposite side are a number of bars, clubs, and restaurants.

Beaches in Fiscardo

Foki beach

Foki beach is shielded from the elements because it is located in a small bay. Foki's fame among Monachus Monachus seals is how it received its name. Depending on your luck, they might be in town at the same time as you.

The waters at Foki beach are a beautiful, deep blue that gradually changes to a magnificent azure and, in the ideal lighting, to emerald. The pebbly beach is encircled by a breathtakingly lush greenery that almost touches the water. This implies that there will be places that are naturally shaded where you can escape the heat.

Emplisi beach

Another nearby beach that is regarded as one of the most beautiful on the island is Emplisi beach. Depending on the day, the waters are either emerald or sapphire in color. You may have believed you were someplace in the Caribbean if it weren't for the thick olive and cypress trees encircling the beach!

The beach has distinctive white stones and is pebbly. Because the seas are deeper here than in Foki, you should watch your kids closely. However, they are so clear that even halfway across the water, you can readily see the seafloor. Since the beach is unorganized, make sure you bring everything you'll need to have a swim and appreciate the view in all its unadulterated naturalness.
